Adam Loo, 19, is from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Growing up in a family of organic farmers, Adam’s love for high quality ingredients and cooking began when he was very young. By the time he was nine years old, he was working at the farmers markets doing small jobs and eventually running his own businesses. As an entrepreneur at a young age, he was scouted by Chef Calvin Burt to begin his culinary career at the age of 15 at the Shipwright’s Café. After three years of experience under the direction of Chef Burt, Adam made the decision to attend The Culinary Institute of Canada. During his internship in 2007, he traveled to New York State to train in the signature restaurant and banquet section of The Sagamore Resort and is now a graduate of the Culinary Arts program. In what little spare time he has, Adam is a player and representative of the P.E.I. Wheelchair Basketball Team but of course, his main focus is his passion for cooking.
