Tim Leamont, 21, is from Arcadia, Nova Scotia, a small village outside of Yarmouth. The youngest of three children, Tim became interested in cooking as a small child watching his mother bake cookies and make supper for the family. Throughout his junior and senior high school years, his determination to pursue his dream never wavered. He knew that he wanted to be a chef. It just felt right. Tim enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at The Culinary Institute of Canada, which provided him with many opportunities, such as the chance to intern under Master Chef Takashi Murakami at St. Charles Country Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba. No stranger to competition, Tim was one of the two students who won The Culinary Institute of Canada the right to represent Canada at the International Culinary Olympics! Tim is also a graduate of the Applied Degree in Culinary Operations program. When he’s not studying for class or practicing for the upcoming competition, Tim likes to play drums.
